An elite team of Navy SEALs embark on a covert mission to recover a kidnapped CIA agent.

An elite team of Navy SEAL attempt to rescue a kidnapped CIA agent and prevent global terrorism. Staring Alex Veadov as Christo, Roselyn Sanchez as Lisa Morales, Nestor Serrano as Walter Ross and most of the main cast were active duty U.S. Navy SEALs and U.S. Navy Special Warfare Combatant Crewmen. It was written by Kurt Johnstad and directed by Mike McCoy and Scott Waugh.

So this isn’t your average action war movie, this is so much different. Firstly its set in modern times when still a lot of war movies are set in the past. It also includes a cast of Navy SEALs which is a nice touch and very clever who better than a actually Navy SEAL to play a Navy SEAL in a movie. Their acting is good, it seems real and believable. The storyline about trying to stop terrorism is good and is very up to date with whats happening in the world now. One thing i will say is they seemed to be in a different place every 10 minutes (America, South America, Africa to name just a few) and also using a different piece of kit (Skydiving, Boat, Submarine, Chopper to name just a few). Don’t get me wrong this isn’t a bad thing, its great to see loads of different countries and vehicles they use, but this all went a bit to quick.

Act of Valor seemed like a Call of Duty or Battlefield movie, it was like i was playing a game and the movie was the cut scenes. I mean i love the Call of Duty and Battlefield franchises and love their games and stories but this is the first time iv seen a movie shot like this. They used plenty of kit from the games like airborne drones, night-vision goggles and holographic sights on their guns as well. I would like to think more movies will be shot like this in the future, loads of action but not the best war movie iv seen. It has a lack of acting talent and story telling, but its still nice to see something different. I still prefer older war movies such as Saving Private Ryan, Apocalypse Now, Downfall or the modern Hurt Locker. I would say give it a watch as its different and reminds me of Call of Duty and Battlefield but don’t expect to much.
