Staring Ryan GoslingŒ (The Ides Of March, Crazy Stupid Love, The Notebook) who plays a character only known as Driver, a quite mysterious mechanic, stuntman and getaway driver. Its probably best described as aŒ Crime, Drama, Thriller.Œ I have to confess this is the first movie i’ve ever seen with Ryan Gosling in, and wasn’t sure what to expect. I have heard good things about this move and GoslingsŒ future 2012 Œrelease Gangster Squad. Also stars Carey Mulligan as Irene, Bryan Cranston as Shannon and Ron Perlman as Nino. Its got a fairly good cast which is always nice to see. It was directed by Nicolas Winding Refn who also wrote and directed the fantasticŒ Bronson and Valhalla Rising.

The movie gets going when Ryan befriends his neighbour Irene and her son Benicio whose car breaks down, a relationship starts from there and dramatically changes when Irenes husband gets released from prison.

The music is great throughout, its powerful, loud and well chosen. You will have a certain song/tune stuck in your head foragers, which is always a good sign from a movie.ŒæGoslings character reminds me of a Russel Crowe type of character, Strong Silent type, which Gosling does quite well. I don’t think he is the best actor out there but done a good job in this movie and I would watch him again. The car chases scenes are done well with the attention to detail being great. If you’re a fan of car orientated movies, not Herbie, you’ll like this!

Overall a pretty solid movie definitely worth a watch.
